About the Campaign

The 30 for 30 campaign celebrates Mandela Day and 30 years of democracy, by raising funds to build 30 websites for 30 small charities doing good work.

The sites will be built by candidates from the U-turn Homeless Ministries programme who have completed a  learnership in Web Development through Connect Solutions, and who have worked hard to turn their lives around.

The goal is to raise R400,000 with the funds going to running the learnership, and directly to the stipends (for those still on the learnership) and salaries (for those who have graduated into internships). The learners gain invaluable experience consulting to the 30 charities and building a compelling website for each charity to enable them to access onling donations and share their impact online.

Mandela Day 2024

At his inauguration speech, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela quoted Marianne Williamson, saying: “As we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same.”

The spirit of the 30 for 30 Campaign speaks to this sentiment. Supporting this initiative allows for 30 charities to shine and supports the learners on the Coding Learnership to shine in their new career path.

Meet our Learners

The learners on the Coding Learnership have overcome enormous hurdles like addiction, and homelessness or risk of homelessness.
